About Us
By grace, through faith are we saved.
St. Mark's was founded 65 years ago to serve the southwest side of San Angelo. As our city has grown, we have found ourselves further and further from the southwest side, but we are still in the same location.

Our church is governed by our Session of Ruling Elders. It is made up of our minister, who acts as moderator, and elders duly elected, ordained and installed by our congregation. Each elder is elected for a term of three years on the Session. The Session is responsible for the maintenance of worship, the peace and unity of our church, the nurture of the spiritual lives of our congregation, and the upkeep of all church property.

We adhere to the principles of the theology of the Reformation, founded by Martin Luther, John Calvin, and others. However, that means that not only are we reformed, but that we are always reforming as we gain new understandings of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and Scripture.

As disciples of our Lord, we strive to live according to his gospel message, to love God above all else, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Our love for our neighbors has led us to be a welcoming congregation. Everyone who enters our doors is treated as we would want to be treated. There are no strangers.

God has been generous to us and calls on us as a community of faith to be generous with our all of our resources toward those in need, those whose lives are chaotic, those who have lost hope and those who are searching for something bigger than themselves. You will find here a community of faith made up of forgiven sinners who are committed to growing into the faith God has given us. We are all on a journey of discovery and you are welcome to join us.
